I am humbled and honored to be the Worship Pastor at New Venture Christian Fellowship. It I was first introduced to the role of a Worship Leader in October 2001 when I visited my brother-in-law’s church and saw the Worship Leader in action. I immediately felt the move of the Spirit and knew that is what I was supposed to do. Following that experience, I was travelling the country as the lead singer for the Envoys, a touring Gospel group, but I continued to feel called to be in a local, high-praise church. After a couple years of praying for that right church, the Lord opened up a door at New Venture. Everything about New Venture seemed perfect, except that it was 2,500 miles away from what was then my home. After much prayer, my wife Sandy and I (married 14 years) both felt confirmation from the Lord, and with our teenage daughters Ashley and Morgan, we decided to take what was the step of faith that brought us here. We are so excited that New Venture is our church home. Worship is much more than just singing a song; Singing is a horizontal experience, worship is vertical. When you take the attention off of you and put it on the Lord, it is powerful and allows the Lord to go to battle on your behalf. As worshippers, we actually reap more benefits and more blessing, as the Lord is free to move in our lives. It is an honor to be a part of what God is doing through Worship here at NVCF.
