Transportation Ministry…

Taking the Message on the Road…
“So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.” – Luke 14:23 (NLT)

New Venture’s Transportation Ministry serves the community by providing youth, adults and seniors with a way to get to weekend Celebration Services and other special events. We strive to reach out to people who want to attend church, but don’t have the means to get there.

If you are in need of a ride to one of our weekend Celebration Services or know someone who would benefit from the Transportation Ministry. Ride arrangements should be made by Wednesday for Saturday and Sunday services.

We’re More than just Bus Drivers…
We’re looking for more than just bus drivers because we provide more than just rides to campus. God has given each of us a personal testimony to share of how Jesus has transformed our lives. We take that message on the road.

The goal of the Transportation Ministry is to outgrow our current buses and vehicles, and continually train partners new partners to reach more of the community. There are diverse serving opportunities within the ministry including Drivers, Captains, Event Coordinators, Administrative Assistants, and Greeters.

For additional info on getting involved or any of the roles below, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Drivers (2 types needed):
Class B Divers are licensed to drive one of New Venture’s Buses. Training is provided to pass the DMV Class B written and driving exam. A DOT (Department of Transportation) physical, background check, and fingerprinting is also required.

POV Drivers are licensed to drive one of New Venture’s SUVs. General Training is provided, but only a Class C license is required. POV Drivers must also have no driving convictions in the past 3 years and no DUI’s on their driving record.

Bus Captain
If you’re a people person, the Bus Captain role may be perfect for you. The captains have a variety of responsibilities including visitations, maintaining the pick-up roster and workers, and Saturday Won by One. Bus Captains also inform Kids about NVCF and get them excited about Sunday School, build relationships with riders, lead training sessions, and recruit young adults and youths as leaders in the Transportation Ministry.

Administrative Assistant
Administrative Assistants serve a very important function in the Transportation Ministry. Under the guidance of the Ministry Director, they map out weekly routes, keep a roster of Children boarding the bus, get all permission slips in order, and follow-up with telephone calls and send out paperwork as needed.

Event Coordinator
Aspiring party planners and those who just like to have a good time might be gifted as Event Coordinators. These people help plan all outreach events, order and pick-up food, assist with outreach events, recruit/coordinate event assistants.

Greeters
The smiling faces and contact points for riders on the church campus are the Transportation Ministry Greeters. They are responsible for greeting all visitors as they depart the bus, giving riders directions on campus, and assisting with boarding and exiting the bus if necessary.
