Vicky Quarantiello, Professional Counselor

Welcome

Welcome to the NVCF Counseling Ministry! I appreciate your giving me the opportunity to help you. Therapy can be a life changing experience. Your commitment to your own growth will largely determine how much you will benefit from it. This form answers some questions that clients often ask about counseling. I believe our work will be most helpful to you when you have a clear idea of what we are trying to do.

My Background

I, Victoria Quarantiello, hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern. I am involved with individual, family and youth counseling. I have specialized in assisting individuals in recovery from substance abuse. I employ play therapy techniques with children to overcome the effects of trauma. I am a facilitator in psycho-educational classes for anger management, substance-abuse recovery and misconduct issues for court referred adolescents. I am a child behavior interventionist, conducting education in parenting techniques and children’s development. My approach to counseling is based in the teachings of Carl Rogers and Virginia Satir, coupled with a deep Christ centered spiritual focus.

Confidentiality

I will treat with great care all the information you share with me. It is your legal right that our sessions and my records about you are kept private. There are a few rare situations in which confidentiality is not protected. California state law mandates the reporting of incidences of child and elder abuse including physical abuse, sexual abuse, unlawful sexual intercourse, neglect, emotional and psychological abuse. All actual or suspected acts of such abuse will need to be reported to the appropriate agency.

About Our Appointments

Typically, I conduct 50-minute therapy sessions once or twice a week. The frequency may increase or decrease based on our felt need. We can schedule meetings for both your and my convenience. It is my experience that therapy usually works best when a regular weekly appointment is scheduled and kept consistently. I will consider our sessions very important and ask you to do the same. The time we schedule will be set-aside exclusively for you. Please try not to miss sessions if you can possibly help it. When you must cancel, give me 24-hours notice. I will have to charge you for missed appointments not canceled 24-hours in advance.

Payment For Services

For a session of 50 minutes, your fee will be $50. Reduction in fees is considered in some cases. Payment is required at the beginning of the session in the form of cash, credit card, or personal check. I’ll provide you with a document (called a superbill) that may be used as a receipt and to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have mental health coverage. If your insurance denies reimbursement for any service, you are still responsible for payment. Sessions conducted over the phone are charged at the same rate as individual therapy. Returned checks will be charged a fee (in addition to the original amount). I examine my fee schedule yearly, and so may change my fees each year.
