Biblically-based Counseling for our Church Family & Community
The goal of the Counseling Ministry is to provide a safe and confidential setting to enable clients to cope and heal emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. New Venture meets the counseling needs of our church and community by offering both Professional Counseling and Lay Counseling.
Professional Counseling
Professional Counseling is offered at New Venture for people who are in need of becoming mentally, spiritually and emotionally healthy. Our theory of counseling is that the Bible contains principles, insights, and appropriate methods for understanding and resolving the challenges that people face in today’s world. Counseling at New Venture utilize Biblical principals along with the latest psychological interventions and techniques to assist you to overcome difficulties and attain a better quality of life.
Professional Counseling is fee based. Sliding scale and Scholarship appointments are available.

Lay Counseling
Lay Counseling is Biblically-based direction for members of our Church Family and the Community. It is a formal meeting between two people where the thinking and behaviors of that individual are examined against biblical principles. The purpose of this counseling is to identify actions which are not in agreement with those set forth in the Bible. Then a plan will be developed to encourage them through a process of growth and change.
All Lay Counselors at New Venture have gone through a 30 week training course and are certified by the American Association of Christian Counselors. They are not paid, professional therapists. Lay counselors pray with their clients and share Biblical perspectives in response to personal, marital, or family needs.
If you would like to become a lay counselor, New Venture provides ongoing 30 week training classes. At the end of the training you will be certified by the American Association of Christian Counselors.
